About us
We are a community-based social enterprise network run for the community by the community, meeting needs identified by the community and making an investment in the un-tapped social capital within that community. Currently we have sixty, or so fully paid up voting members, a Business Group of 12-15 active members and a admin team of 4 supporting each of our projects. We held our first AGM in April 2022 reporting upon our activities and impacts to date and our plans for 2022-2025
Broadly, our altruistic objective is to support individuals, voluntary groups and local businesses in any charitable endeavour for the benefit of the community of Iver and surrounding areas. Our goal is to aid the advancement of education and skills training; the protection of the environment, health and mental wellbeing and the relief of financial inequality, discrimination and social distress within our community.
" Perhaps the best vehicle for change in any community is mutual aid; where social needs are either not or poorly met; take control, imagine it, help each other out and make it happen" Leigh Tugwood, I-Can Co-founder
In our third year we are seeking your support for these projects upon which we are concentrating our efforts including:
I-Can: Business Group & Young Entrepreneurs A varied and 12 strong group offering networking and mutual business support at regular meetings and workshops . Younger members are actively engaged and mentored through live fee-earning projects, supported by the group, to help build their businesses, and confidence
I-Can: Lend-a-Laptop Helping to reduce digital exclusion we upcycle donated laptops and lend them to homeworkers, particularly new start-ups, and home learners - both adults and children
I-Can: Time Bank Supporting existing resident and community groups this scheme enables individuals to exchange their time involved with domestic, community and environmental volunteering .Time can be saved or exchanged or donated, as credits, with the scheme
I-Can is run in the community, by the community and for the benefit of the community
Your donation will help support the projects we already have up and running and also enable us to do more. Thank You
